Group Shot Deirdre, Chinonye and Alecia.JPG

Motor City S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) is the brainchild of three Detroit based graduate-level educated women who came together to fill the void in effectively engaging minority and underrepresented students in science and art education. Dr. Alecia Gabriel, Chinonye Akunne, MPH and Deirdre Roberson, MSc have over 30 years of combined technical science with art education and experience. Passionate about making impacts, they hold executive positions in various professional and community-based organizations.

Get in touch

We at Motor City S.T.E.A.M know the importance of the interconnectivity between the arts and sciences. STEM and the arts function better together than apart. That’s why we founded MCS so students have access to STEAM education so advanced degrees in STEAM will no longer be accomplishments, but the standard.
